Turnstone House is one of just four exclusive homes built about eight years ago and set around a quiet courtyard just off Church Street. This idyllic setting is as peaceful as it sounds, a courtyard where children can play safely while the church and the thatched village pub are within a short stroll.

The house was built to a particularly high standard by local builders with solid concrete floors to both ground and first floor, incorporating underfloor heating throughout. The layout and design make particularly good use of natural light with large windows and generous proportions creating spectacularly open and welcoming spaces. The hall gives rise to an immediate 'Wow' as you arrive and then
the fabulous L-shaped kitchen, living, dining room is truly wonderful as an area in which to both relax and entertain. The sitting room with its fireplace and cosy wood burner is just that, warm, comforting and quiet. The main bedroom is gloriously generous with more than ample storage and the en-suite and dressing area attached to the guest room simply wonderful.

The current owners, when buying from new, very wisely acquired extra land in order to create a generous rear garden commensurate with scale of the house.

West Hanney is the smaller of the two Hanneys and some would say, all the more charming for its modest size. It is a small and friendly community and this neat courtyard of four detached homes creates a useful community within the community, all looking out for each other in the nicest possible way. Both East and West Hanney have the benefit of a pub and a restaurant each. Hanney community shop,
situated between the villages and within walking distance of the house, is open six days a week and includes a post office. It is attached to the lively village hall, which is available for hire for functions and used by many local clubs and groups.

The recreation ground with football pitches and tennis courts is similarly conveniently situated between the villages.

The Hanneys have the benefit of an OFSTED rated 'good' primary school within easy walking distance and King Alfred's secondary school is circa 4 miles to the south where the sixth form is rated outstanding' as is Didcot Girls', just 9 miles or so to the east. The area is rich in top quality private schools too with St Hugh's, Abingdon Prep and The Manor within easy reach and then senior schools, Abingdon Boys, St Edwards, Headingdon, Magdalen and Radley, all nearby. The village is on the bus route for both local state and private secondary schools.

Didcot railway station is barely 15 minutes away with its regular fast (circa 40 minute) trains to London Paddington.

West Hanney is close to the pretty market town Wantage and only 15 minutes from Abingdon with the River Thames and yet more amenities.

All mains services are connected. Ultra fast broadband is available.
