Oxford

Back

Established in the 12th Century, and named the 'City of Dreaming Spires' by poet Matthew Arnold and most famous around the world for its historic University, Oxford unquestionably ranks among the country’s if not one of the World’s most enchanting cities, offering a vision of medieval history juxtaposed with modern charm. The City Centre has been taken to an altogether different level with the completion of the re-development of the Westgate retail and entertainment area in 2017, which sits alongside the atmospheric Oxford Castle & Jail area with its boutique hotel and surrounding restaurants. In the city’s heart is the wonderful Covered Market, which is going through a renaissance and attracting niche businesses such as the award winning iScream Gelateria, through to the Teardrop Micropub by Church Hanbrewery. The city centre offers a first class music, art and theatre scene, attracting people from far and wide.
