Wallingford

Back

Ideally situated for easy access to Thame and Henley-on-Thames and just 13 miles south of Oxford, Wallingford is celebrated for its independent shops and quintessentially English market town character, known to be the best surviving example of a Saxon fortified town in England. The charm of the town was recognised by Dame Agatha Christie, the English crime novelist, short story writer and playwright who lived in a Georgian property on the edge of Wallingford until she died in 1976. More recently the town has been a well-used filming location for Midsomer Murders. Nearby well renown independent schools include Cranford House School and Moulsford Preparatory School.
